Using the palm of your hand or knee to activate a tuning fork is never recommended. Using the body to strike a tuning fork limits the amount of energy available from the struck tuning fork – the palm of hand is not a very “hard” surface. Using a knee could damage the kneecap (hairline fracture, bruising), and is also never recommended. When using an object that is too hard (e.g., hockey puck), repeated use can damage a tuning fork, and the strike makes a very loud noise, not conducive to Sound Healing.
